The images are from a hardness comparison bar for the Poldi hammer.
The hardness test with a Poldi hammer is performed by striking the test piece (unknown hardness) and a comparison bar (known hardness) simultaneously with a powerful hammer blow (1000 g hammer), which presses a 10 mm ball into both. The hardness is calculated from the ratio of the indentation sizes. The structure consists of pearlite and ferrite. Based on the pearlite content, the hardness comparison bar cooled down slightly faster. The ferrite still shows a slight Widmanstätten pattern.
The hardness is 200 HV 10.
