Inductively remelted and rapidly cooled free machining steel. The ferrite has formed as skewers (strained ferrite; one could also think that a coarsely acicular, upper bainite is present. In our opinion, however, the time for C-diffusion was too short).

Martensite has formed from the former pearlite grains. The manganese sulfides show no predominant direction any more and are spherically formed.
