Microalloyed, precipitation-hardened ferritic-pearlitic steel. The vanadium in combination with carbon and nitrogen leads to the precipitation of finely dispersed carbides, nitrides or carbonitrides during cooling from hot forming. The precipitation hardening increases the strength, especially the yield strength Rp0.2. The microstructure consists of approx. 90% pearlite with some ferrite in a slightly Widmanstätten pattern.
