Locally there are carbide-free segregation zones (macro-etching on fibre course with PAG QT²). This sample comes from a test gauge. These are pendulum annealed for days after tempering in order to reduce possible machining stresses.
Heat treatment parameters:
- 1060 °C solution annealing temperature
- Hardened in a vacuum
- Deep-freezing -196 °C
- Tempered 4 times at 520 °C
- Pendulum annealing 150 °C for 120h
