Diamond honing stone is fake

Chemical designationDiamant-Honstein
StateFake

Our customer uses honing in the hard fine machining of cylindrical surfaces and has problems with a too low removal rate.
He receives modified diamond honing stones from the manufacturer in order to increase the removal rate. Renewed honing tests are far from satisfactory; the removal rates are not where one would like to be.

We have taken a closer look at various honing stones using a scanning electron microscope and found that the abrasive material is not diamond as advertised by the manufacturer, but much cheaper silicon carbide (SiC ceramic).
It is therefore no longer surprising that there are problems with the removal rate. In terms of price, our findings have also caused a stir.

We would be happy to take a closer look at your honing stones.
