The micrographs show the microstructure of an investment casting component. The main alloying elements of this Co-based alloy are 30% Cr and 13% W. The hardness is 390 HV5. The area fraction of the dark interdendritic eutectic (carbide containing, hard) compared to the light dendritic mixed crystal (austenite, relatively soft) is about 33%.
