A case study from electrical engineering:
Crimping is the joining of two components (e.g. copper wire and cable lug or plug) by plastic deformation (crimping). With the aid of a crimping tool (crimping pliers), the wires of a cable are positively connected to the plug or wire end ferrule. The crimp connection shown in the picture still shows slight looseness.
