The microstructure is (by light microscopy) single-phase and strongly deformed. The hardness is 138 HV0,1.

CuSn0.15 is a low-alloyed tin bronze. Tin causes solid solution strengthening and increases the mechanical properties compared to pure copper,  while the electrical and thermal conductivity decrease only slightly. The alloy is characterised by very good formability, shows good corrosion resistance and is suitable for brazing and welding (especially arc, resistance and ultrasonic welding). Areas of application are automotive,  components in electrical engineering, connectors such as high-current plugs and in central electrical systems. electrical systems in conventionally and electrically operated vehicles.
