CW350H | CuNi25 | C71300 Continous casting

CuNi25 is a common coin alloy used, for example, for the border of the two-euro coin. Here, the alloy is in the as-cast state, with a dendritic microstructure, a large center shrinkage cavity and gas pores at the rim. Copper and nickel are completely soluble in each other at high temperature. The microstructure is single-phase (kfz) with segregations in the interdendritic interstices.
