CC480K | CuZn10Si4-C

The casting alloy contains 3.7% Si and 10.4% Zn.

In the as-cast condition, it exhibits a dendritic solidification structure with very large grains. The interdendritic beta phase, which is not etched, is enriched in silicon and depleted in zinc. Compared to the pure Cu-Zn system, its phase diagram is shifted significantly towards lower zinc contents due to the presence of silicon.
