Numeric designation5.3106 | EN-JS1030
Chemical designationEN-GJS-400-15
StateGraphite classification and fracture appearance in tensile tests
Etching3% Nital

The microstructure of this ductile iron consists of >95% ferrite. The minimum tensile strength is 400 MPa, the minimum elongation at fracture is 15%.

Graphite classification according to EN ISO 945-1:2019

  • Graphite form VI
  • Guide number for the size range: 6

The SEM images show a ductile force fracture. The graphite spheres are located in the large honeycombs, and significantly finer honeycombs are again found on the combs of these honeycombs.
